Does your home feel a little barren after the holidays? If you are like most people, once you take down all of the glitter and color your spaces almost seem empty. This only adds to the post holiday let-down when friends, family, and the hustle and bustle are gone. I’m an organization freak, so personally, I always enjoy the process of decluttering! But even I miss having a little bling around the house. However, there is no reason to let go of all holiday decor cheer.

DIY SOLUTION – ADD STRING LIGHT DECOR
DIY canvas art was the perfect solution to create décor that was adaptable with the lights on or off. The canvas can be painted to enhance any interior color scheme. By keeping certain areas unpainted, diffused light from the back of the canvas can shine through.
There are a few options to creating your pattern:
- You can draw your own one of a kind pattern
free hand - For a large canvas
pattern you could project a design onto the canvas and draw the outline - Alternatively, you can use a stencil

these require you to hand paint around your patternoption
I chose to purchase a cheap vinyl wall decal. It is easy to position on the canvas (and reposition), and easy to remove after the paint has dried. This option creates very clean lines as you simply spray paint over the decals.
