TRENDING DIY INSPIRATION – GLASS BOTTLE DECOR

Pinterest has a lot of different ways you can spruce up a wine bottle – paint, water color, string color, wrapped with ribbon embellishments, etc. You often see these glass bottles as part of a table top display used as a flower vase or candle holder. These wine bottles repurposed for outdoor torches really caught my attention. What truly got the wheels turning with this inspiration was the mounting on the fence.
DIY BY STYLE TWIST ON GLASS BOTTLE DECOR
We don’t have a wood fence and I wasn’t interested in torches. However, I was looking for a way to display branches as a large wall décor grouping for our guest bedroom. In addition, I wanted to emphasize the Global design accent of our home. Fortunately, I had a bottle of wine that I had brought back from a business trip to Spain to display. The.Best.Ever. from small family winery near Seville that was very reasonable (thank you André).
To personalize the décor more, I chose a bottle of our favorite spirits to round out the rule of displaying in odd numbers. I wanted a light and airy feel. So, the branches are painted white with clear beads glued to them to reflect the light – almost like ice. BTW – do not put this in a heavily trafficked area as those puppies can fall off and are killer on unsuspecting bare feet!

ADAPTING WALL DECOR FROM FARMHOUSE TO GLAM
White branches were a good choice for keeping the guest room gender neutral. You can easily adapt this DIY inspiration to a more feminine style. Part of my personalization was to identify what was in the bottles themselves by keeping the labels. In addition, you can also choose labels to enhance a color scheme and style. The bottle below was specifically chosen because of it’s blue, silver, and gold coloring. Subsequently, the board and hardware were painted to match. The ostrich feathers scream ‘feminine’ to top it all off!
